I wonder if dealers will offer custom painted guards instead.
Evidently, it’s to discourage people from keeping them on. I actually kind of like it. I even have socks that go with that.
Idk where it was from, but my friend just texted me it.

They might as well just offer different colors as an option. People are going to leave them on anyway, so they might as well start incorporating them into the design.

The pink matches the blue paint quite well.

So the rationale is that pink isn’t manly so manly men will feel the need to take them off? Fuck that bullshit.

There is nothing wrong with that :o)
And why are they so pissed that people keep them on?

I would totally love a black Charger RT with that pink guard.

I’m not buying that they are changing the color so people will take them off. If they wanted them off, they’d send the dealerships a directive to remove them before delivery.
My guess is that they want more social media activity.

I feel like they’re actually just going to cycle through all the typical neon colors over the next few years.
It’ll be fun to see what comes next.

good luck with the storm approaching, also whenever I see a dodge with a bumper guard I think about buying the tool kit to remove them.

It could be a simple and easy way to tell the difference between batches of plastics, or maybe they are a new design

Agreed. It’s their car and it doesn’t look nearly as bad as most of the pep boys part store style gaudy garbage that gets slapped on cars. If it weren’t for the fact that it’s part of their packaging for delivery, if it were instead a factory option like stripes, none of us would care this much.

Turns out the paint under the guards gets damaged if you leave them on the re too long. Dirt and debris gets stuck in there and ends up scratching the valance.

Smart dealers/prep techs are taking them off at delivery and selling them on Ebay. 197 active auctions! (I have no idea how many are dealer employees, if any. Or all.)

I’m gonna guess they were painted. I can’t see them changing dye colors to something other than high-viz orange or yellow.

They damage the underlying paint, usually severely, requiring a full front bumper respray + blending to fix.

so that defeats the purpose of them in the first place :/

They’re there to protect the car during loading and unloading during shipping. I’m sure they do their jobs well, but that job isn’t supposed to extend past getting to the dealer. lol

Its a bit of plastic that constantly rubs on & diminishes the clear coat faster than with it off. It's just stupid to keep them on regardless of what it's for/what it's called. Just paint your splitter if you like it so much

No, you’re assuming that rationale, which says more about you than anyone else, especially since you can’t confirm that Dodge is even changing them from yellow, and your assumptions are based on this basically empty post.
What if they changed it for the most obvious reason, like, pink doesn't match as well with their colors as yellow does?

You should probably take them off your car then. Also it’s sole purpose is to protect the splitter from getting scuffed/damaged so if you’re that concerned about the paint on your splitter you should probably keep them on. It’s also much simpler/less permanent to have the covers. I stand by what I said
